Introduction
Welcome to my blog. This is where I write about the things I'm building, learning, and thinking about. From frontend engineering to design systems, from open source tools to the small details that make software feel right.
I built this blog to have a quiet space for longer thoughts — the kind that don't fit in a tweet or a commit message.
What to expect
I'll be writing about a few recurring themes:
- Frontend architecture — component design, state management, and the patterns that scale
- Design systems — building consistent, accessible interfaces that developers actually enjoy using
- Open source — the tools I maintain and the ones I contribute to
- UI/UX craft — the details that make interfaces feel polished
The tech behind this blog
This blog is built with a few pieces I've come to trust:
- Next.js for the framework — App Router, React Server Components
- MDX for authoring — write in markdown, embed React when needed
- Tailwind CSS for styling — utility-first, design-token driven
- shadcn/ui for components — accessible, customizable primitives
I wanted something simple: write a .mdx file, commit it, and the post is live. No CMS, no database, no build step for content.
A note on design
The visual design here is intentionally minimal — a single column, generous whitespace, readable typography. I believe good design gets out of the way. The words matter more than the chrome around them.
If you find something13 interesting or want to talk about any of these topics, reach out. I'm around.
